What Can We Do?

Dependent on the malfunction, if required, we will examine your computer and may run diagnostic checks.  If something is broken, we can source, fit and test the component for you whether it be internal or external.  For instance, just because your laptop screen has been broken doesn't mean that you have to throw the laptop away, we can source a replacement screen and fit it for you.  Should software be the problem, then we may ask you for the original install disks. Plymstock, Plymouth Computer and Laptop Repairs, Phil Guy Computer & Repairs Caring Service for young and old - Preventative Maintenance

If your system is malfunctioning, we will investigate. In the first instance we will run a preliminary visual diagnosis but if this does not reveal or confirm the problem then we may need to do further exploratory work.  Sometimes this can consist of preventative maintenance , checking your hard drive(s), check for malware (including viruses) and anything which may have caused the problem. If we feel that the system files on the hard drive have been permanently corrupted, we can optionally re-install the operating system.  Often a problem can mean physical and visual checking of components which on a laptop can mean complete disassembly as critical components such as fans and processors are usually located beneath the motherboard.

In addition to repairing the system, we often apply any security patches or driver updates if applicable.  Should it be necessary for the operating system to be re-installed, an additional charge may be incurred.
